Skills and Experience

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced operators of CNC Machine Centres and CNC lathes.
Applicants must have experience in either of the following processes

  • CNC Machining of mostly metal products with some plastics
  • CNC Machine Programming
  • Preferable experience with either Okuma and Mazak CNC machine centres and Lathes

Key Attributes

Can show initiative and contribute to manufacturing efficiencies and processes.

Think outside the square

Has experience in light to medium Engineering (preferred but not essential)

Required experience: Programming: 1 year. Must be able to make changes to programs as required, at the machine

Required licence or certification: Drivers Licence is required. Trade Papers preferred but not essential.

Program, Setup and Operate CNC Machines in a safe and efficient manner, producing products that meet customerís specifications and requirements, with minimal scrap.

We need someone to hit the floor running and add to the depth of our workforce talent.
Currently programming is done manually from printed drawings and specifications but CAM experience would be considered useful for future development.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, sketches or samples and make recommendations the optimum machining operations required to manufacture the product.
  • Providing accurate estimates of setup and run cycle times for quoting purposes.
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying machine operation issues.
  • Assist in determining material, jigs fixture and tooling requirements.
  • Share technical knowledge with regard to setting and programming with apprentices and tradespersons as required.
  • Assist in training and instructing CNC lathe operators on how to run machines in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor output of operators under your instruction.
  • Machine maintenance. Report all machine issues to maintenance for actioning.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including Quality and OHS&W.
  • Other general duties as considered reasonable for this classification

Qualifications and Skills

  • Australian recognised Engineering Trade qualification as a CNC Machinist,or
  • Trade Qualified Machinist with post trade qualification in CNC Programming.
  • Minimum 3 years experience performing duties described in a engineering production environment.
